Sometimes, cannabis makes people a little uncomfortable. If that’s the case, here are a few tips for making yourself comfortable with the experience.
1. Try some cannabidiol (CBD)

If cannabis has got you down, more cannabis may be the answer… Just kidding. Well, sort of. Cannabidiol (CBD), is a nonpsychoactive component of the cannabis plant.
Most modern strains contain very high levels of the psychoactive compound in the plant and not much of the nonpsychoactive components that mellow out the experience.
Research has shown that CBD counteracts the negative effects of THC. Picking up a high-CBD/low-THC strain can save the day in the midst of a bad THC experience.

2. Change your environment

One of the primary reasons new consumers do not enjoy cannabis is because of the associated anxiety and paranoia. When trying cannabis for the first time, it is very important to be in a safe, comfortable, and relaxing environment.
If you feel like you are having a cannabis-induced panic attack, changing your scene can help dramatically. Hop in the shower, go for a walk, lay down for a nap, anything that puts you back into a space that allows you to feel comfortable and calm.

3. Put on a movie or music

Another way to cope with an uncomfortable high is to shift your attention to a safe activity. Many people find that putting on some headphones and listening to music is especially enjoyable after a little cannabis.
A movie is also an excellent way to shift focus from the uncomfortable sensations to something more neutral and engaging. If you’ve inhaled cannabis, the experience will be pretty much over by the time the film ends. If you’ve eaten an edible, laying down for a nap may be your best bet.
